Buttons and Box frames

Happy New Year

Wishing all my crafting friends a safe, happy and creative 2022

The festive season has come to and end and its that time of the year when we make grand plans for the year ahead.

My New Year Resolution for 2022 is to share more of the cards I make here on my blog.

Father Christmas brought me a Brother Scan n Cut machine – I must have been a good girl in 2021.

I will share my journey of learning how to use the Scan n Cut and the cards I make.

This first card of 2022 is a birthday card inspired by pictures made from buttons (if you search button pictures on Pinterest you will see lots of ideas)

The paper buttons were die cut using dies from the Papercraft Society Box 27.  There are three different designs of button in a variety of sizes.  I die cut them out of scraps of coloured paper.

To make the box frame I used a cutting file that I downloaded from the Gentleman Crafter at Creative Fabrica.  This is an amazing site where designers sell their images and cutting files.  The box frames come in a variety of sizes.  This is a 4×4 inch frame.  I drew the sentiment using the scan n cut and cut it out in an oval shape.

The box frame was mounted onto a 5×5 inch top folding card which I matted with hot pink paper.

I added some gold buttons to the heart shape and finished off the card with some flat backed pearls.

The message inside the card reads

“On you special Day “

This card was easy to put together and I really enjoyed creating with the paper buttons.

Thank you for spending time with me today

Enjoy your crafting

Love Dawn xx
