Double Diamond Fold Card

As I mentioned in this recent blog post I have recently discovered John Bloodworth the Gentleman Crafter, his blog is fantastic and he also has a fans page over on Creative Fabrica which I am a member of.

On the first Monday of each month in 2022 John is making available to his members an SVG cutting file for a card base.  The one for January is a Double Diamond Fold Card and I am absolutely in love with this design. The file includes the card base with scored fold lines and the mat layers.   I’ve made two cards with this design so far which I have shared below.

For my first card, I used an ivory card stock to cut out the card base.  The score lines make it so easy to fold into shape and John includes a short process video with his download.

The mats were cut from patterned paper by First Edition Pretty Posy and I added layers to the middle and two diamond panels in the ivory card stock.

For the decoration I used stamped images from Papercraft Society Box 27 They were stamped onto watercolour card stock and coloured with Arteza watercolour pencils. I cut the images out on my Brother Scan n Cut.

In the centre of the card I used the bookmark die and envelope to add a little gift to this card.

The second of these Double Diamond cards was cut from hot pink card. The mats were black card stock and the layers in gold mirror card.  I used papers and die cuts from the December 2021 Love from Lizi kit to decorate the card.

There is space on the back of each card to add a sentiment and write a message.

I have really enjoyed making these cards.  I love how the design can really show off contrasting colours and patterns to make a really striking card.

If you enjoy making card bases from cutting files I would encourage you to check out John’s Fans page.

Thank you for stopping by today, If you liked these cards please leave me a comment.

Happy Crafting

Love Dawn xx
