Today I am sharing the card I made for this weeks challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.
This is sketch number 517 and it has been designed by Amy O’Neill , she has created a beautiful Valentines card using the sketch.
Please check out her blog and those of the rest of the designers on the ‘clean team’ The gallery also has plenty of inspiration on ways to use this sketch.
The torn edge dies add interest to the patterned paper. For the smaller squares I used the stamp style die and green card stock.
I chose to make this a birthday card and stamped the sentiment on the right hand side of the card below the squares and rectangles.
To embellish the card I added die cut roses, leaves and flourishes. I used scraps of the patterned paper to die cut these. As they blend with the paper they add texture and dimension without detracting from the arrangement of the shapes.
I love the simplicity of this design and I can see it becoming a favourite for using up scraps of patterned paper.
Please leave me a comment if you have enjoyed seeing this card.
