Repeating patterns notecards – Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 481

This weeks sketch designed by Cecile is a simple but very effective design. It was perfect for a project I had in mind.

A set of note cards with general sentiments on them is always handy to keep in your stash of cards. As mine were getting low I decided to make 5 cards following this sketch design.

Following on from last weeks card using two stencils, I got my inks and stencils out again and made three different patterns. Once they were dry I used a circle punch and a square and hexagon die to cut out small shapes.

I laid them out in the pattern of the sketch but the cards looked a bit plain, a layer of embossed card behind the shapes gave the cards lots of texture and interest. I added foam pads on the back of the shapes and the sentiments to give some dimension.

These cards were so quick to make but have turned out beautifully.
