Slimline Stripes

The card I have made today is inspired by three challenges I am joining in with this week. The Just us Girls challenge asks for stripes to be included in the card design. Sunday Stamps are looking for a slimline card with a bold sentiment and challenge number 3 is the sketch design from Sketch Saturday .

To fit in with the slimline design I rotated the sketch but kept all the elements.  The background of the card was made by masking off areas with post it notes and then blending with Distress Oxide Ink.  The central sentiment panel is a stamp which I stamped in black ink and then heat embossed with clear powder to give it a bit of a shine.  The mat is green mirror card and I used a scrap to punch out three stars to fit in with the sketch.

I had so much fun making this card I did another one using a sunburst for the background instead of the horizontal stripes.

I hope you have enjoyed my card, check out the challenges and all the wonderful creations that the design teams have made.

Have a great crafting day.

Dawn xx

  1. Wow you certainly mastered the stripes here for our challenge at Just Us Girls. Love the boldness in black and the touch of striped colours in the background. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us this week.

    1. I absolutely love your card! The horizontal green and white stripes look fabulous with the b&w striped sentiment! Your 2nd card is awesome as well with the bright colors radiating out from the sentiment. Thanks so much for joining us at Sunday Stamps!
