The Gentleman Crafter Sketch Challenge 1

I recently discovered the blog  Gentleman Crafter.  John is an extremely talented teacher and crafter with 30 years experience.  I have learnt such a lot from him on how to use my new Scan n Cut.

This week on his blog, new for 2022, he launched his card sketch challenge and a new Facebook group where you can craft along and share your makes.

For this first card sketch  I again turned to Papercraft Society Box 27 and used the papers from the box to make this 6×4 card.

To get the torn edge look on the pink mat layer I used the edge die which came in the box.  I really like the texture it gives to the card.

I used a circle element from a previous papercraft society box along with the small rose and leaves die to embellish the card.

I die cut the roses from scraps of the patterned paper and added foam pads behind them to give a bit of dimension

The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped in black ink.

This is such a simple design but so effective, I have shared my card on the Facebook group and if you play along with this challenge I encourage you to join the group and share your makes.  It’s really inspiring to see how the same sketch can lead to so many different designs.

At the beginning of this week when I started crafting with this box, I wasn’t really feeling very inspired but as the week has progressed I have been really surprised at the array of different cards I’ve managed to make.  If you haven’t seen them all please check out my previous posts.

I’m looking forward to starting a new craft project this weekend with a new set of supplies.  Look out for my posts next week to see what I make next. Let me know in the comments below what you are making this week.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Happy Crafting

Love Dawn xx
